SCHOOL OF INTERIOR PRODUCTION AND DESIGN
SPWiD is a new quality among interior schools - the first school focused on technical and practical aspects of space design in Poland. It is dedicated to people who want to acquire professional knowledge and experience in the field of production technology and interior design. They will be able to improve their professional skills under the supervision of one of the best Polish interior architects - Dominika J. Rostocka. She is the mentor and, above all, the author of the innovative SPWiD program. The autumn semester at the School of Interior Production and Design will begin on September 19, 2014.
"Interior design requires interdisciplinary knowledge from people who do this job. To be a good interior designer is not enough just an aesthetic sense. Creative view of reality must be supported by thorough technical, product and technological knowledge. Several years of interior design in Poland and abroad have led me to such conclusions. Experience supported by thousands of projects, hundreds of projects and foreign prizes is my greatest treasure. I want to share it with people who take their first steps in the profession of interior architect ", says Dominika J. Rostocka, co-founder and mentor of the School of Interior Production and Design.
Raising the competences of people who want to professionally deal with interior designing will take place in the SPWiD on the basis of the original teaching program. It is based on practical knowledge and rich experience of Dominika J. Rostocka. Classes will be conducted by her and also by other long-time practitioners and top-class technologists, who will enable to learn the properties of many materials and methods of their application based on building standards and regulations. The key points of the program of the School of Interior Production and Design are design workshops, organized on construction sites and currently arranged interiors, as well as material workshops, step by step showing the construction and assembly of individual interior furnishings. They will be interwoven with inspiring presentations on new trends from the world of interiors and design, as well as development trends in construction.
In addition, special projects in the field of design, organized by the Art & Mind Foundation, will be implemented in SPWiD.
"In addition to professional practice, the School of Interior Production and Design will also place great emphasis on creativity and abstract thinking. Twenty years ago, these features dominated the arrangement of the original interiors. Currently, in the face of an extremely wide range of ready-made products, independent design, and even more the creation of new designs (both larger interior and detail elements) is a margin of work for many architects. It is worth changing, because only then the interior becomes truly tailor-made and timeless, "emphasizes Rostocka. One of the key issues related to the design of both the interior and the details intended for them is geometry. It is the geometrical code in the design that will be devoted to an open lecture inaugurating the autumn semester of the SPWiD, which will take place on September 18 in Atelier Grzybowska 6/10 in Warsaw. Classes of the autumn semester will start on September 19, will take place at the School of Interior Production and Design every two weeks and will end on December 7, 2014.
